Convex Lenses in Magnifying Glasses
A Convex lens is a lens that curves outward like the outside of a sphere. The rounded part of the lens collects light from a source and absorbs it making the image appear bright and sharp (Convex Lens, 2016).
Convex lenses are used to make magnifying glasses zoom into images making them larger to view (How does a Magnifyning Glass Make Things Apear Bigger?, 2014).
The lens is normally mounted in a frame with a handle.

Rays of lights that pass through the convex lens and converge at the focal point creating a virtual image.
