Magnifying Glasses

-If magnifying glasses did not exist, we would not be able to magnify small tiny objects and no one would know any information about very small things like bacteria and viruses or objects that far in space like stars and galaxies. 

 

-To make fire with a magnifying glass  and newspaper it can take up to 4 to 9 hours sometimes to actually get a flame.

 

-Roger Bacon, an English philosopher, scientist and Franciscan Friar, created the invention of the magnifying glass in 1214 AD - 1294 AD. 

 

-Thousands of years ago Egyptians used chips of crystal or obsidian to make small objects bigger.
